Womens Bean Project:

To kick off the new year and get a jump start our collecting dollars for our charity of the year, Women’s Bean Project, the volunteer committee held a 50/50 Raffle.  Raffle tickets were sold for $2.00 each for a chance to win half of the money collected.  The sales totaled $216.00, so the lucky winner went home with $113.00 for purchasing a $2.00 ticket.  Not a bad return on your money!!  The Women’s Bean Project is an organization that helps prepare women to enter back into society by teaching the skills and helping them find good paying jobs.  The organization is based in Denver, Colorado and had a 100% placement rate in 2012.  The website for the organization is www.womensbeanproject.com for more details on the organization and their efforts.

East Park at Interlocken During March the volunteer committee returned to East Park at Interlocken to clean up trash as our adopted area for the City of Broomfield.  It was a beautiful spring day and we collected a lot of trash and left the park ready for lots of spring and summer guests.

2nd Annual Hot Dog Bar On Wednesday April 3 the volunteer committee held its  2nd Annual Hot Dog Bar for the employees of MSI.  Employees who purchased a lunch deal received a fresh steamed hot dog and bun with all of the usual toppings, chips, sodas, cookies and one ticket for a raffle to win 2 Rockies tickets all for only $5.00 each!  The hot dogs were fabulous and tasted just like the ones you get at the ballpark.  Everyone enjoyed a fun lunch and the volunteer committee raised $259.00 which goes towards our goal to help the Women

Bean Project, our adopted charity for 2013.
