2008 Projects

Humane Society Boulder Valley Bake Sale -- A special Valentine's Day Bake Sale with all proceeds going to the Humane Society Boulder Valley.  Held on site in the lobby of MSI's building at the Interlocken Business Park in Broomfield, CO.

Dress For Success --
The career women of MSI donated gently used business attire, including suits, separates, accessories, handbags and shoes to benefit the Dress For Success organization.  Dress For Success helps women in need with wardrobe selections for interviews and jobs, all at no cost.

Quarters 4 Kids --
Quarters were collected the entire month of April and given to a  school participating in the Quarters 4 Kids program, where kids collect quarters to buy nutritious breakfasts at school for impoverished kids.

Raffle With A Mission --
The law firm of Hindman Sanchez donated $250 in raffle prizes, with a Grand Prize of great seats to a Colorado Rockies game!  To enter the raffle, employees brought in one new donation item off a list of Greatest Needs for the Denver Rescue Mission.  A great success, with over $150 in monetary donations and hundreds of dollars worth of in kind donations!

Habitat for Humanity --
This year, the Volunteer Committee helped Habitat For Humanity work on a new community in Boulder, Colorado.  The work day was May 31st, with a great group of MSI volunteers and their families chipping in on all sorts of construction jobs!

Kids In Need of Dentistry (KIND) --
The Volunteer Committee teamed up with the Denver Bar Association to gather donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss to benefit KIND.  KIND is the oldest dental charity, founded in 1912, and gives donated items to kids of families who cannot afford such luxuries.  Another great success thanks to our generous employees!

Arapahoe House School Supply Drive --
Another great donation drive, with all school supplies donated going to the Arapahoe House, a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing effective services for individuals and families with alcohol, drug or other behavioral health problems.

Meals On Wheels of East Boulder County Bake Sale --
Our second successful bake sale, with over $375 raised to benefit the Meals On Wheels program for East Boulder County!  Meals On Wheels programs bring healthy meals to the homes of shut-ins, elderly, or those in need of a nutritious meal.  It operates through volunteers -- if you're interested in how to help, contact your local chapter of Meals On Wheels today!

Turkey Tails  -- November --
MSI's Broomfield employees purchased "feathers" for $2 each to cover a cartoon turkey, with all proceeds donated to the Denver Rescue Mission for their Thanksgiving Meal program.  $213 was raised for the program.

The Angel Tree Project
was done in conjunction with the Salvation Army.  The Salvation Army collects names of children from families that will not be able to afford presents for the kids.  MSI obtained 30 names of local children that we could help during the holiday season.  The 30 names were hung on the tree in the main lobby and all were snatched off the tree within a week.  Our generous employees purchased gifts from a list of most wanted items and returned them to the tree.  We then delivered the gifts to the Salvation Army office in Broomfield and they were thrilled.  The presents were distributed to the children the week before Christmas so they could all have a joyous holiday.
